I will start my Digital dentistry story late last winter with my patient Sue who arrived at my office with a smile she has not liked for years. So, what made this young lady remarkable?  It was not just that her problem was so concerning to her, but that she arrived in my office the same time as digital smile design AI (artificial intelligence) just came forward from DigitalSmileDesignApp by Dr. Christian Coachman.  The iPhone AI app helps visualize what is possible in just a few minutes- a process that would have taken at least an hour or more and gave us command over the display of her new smile.  This new AI helped take her dream to reality. We worked together to make her dream come true by determining the smile she always wanted from the position and shape of her teeth to the color of her new smile.

 So that is why I am starting almost at the end of my story. But here it is from the beginning. I have been in dentistry for 35 years and have been in the digital dental world after desktop computers and the creative software platforms came to be. Since 1986 I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and skills in lectures and hands-on courses in general practice dentistry as well as cosmetic and smile design analysis.  The past twenty-five years have seen a surge in computer technology.  My years of working in 2D (Keynote, PowerPoint, Photoshop, SmileDesignPro) and in the analog world of laboratory work has given me a unique set of skills to help people. The most recent accomplishment was to be recognized and certified as a Certified Smile Designer with the DSDapp group headed by Dr. Christian Coachman.

I am thrilled beyond my imagination for what is possible for my patients.

My traditional dental education began at Temple Dental School in 1981 and finished my General Practice Residency at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1986.  I continue my education through university, academic, corporate and private institutions including the Dawson Academy, Piper Institute for TMJ studies, and The Spear Education Institute. In addition, I participate in a local Spear Education Study Club. These educational opportunities emphasize general dentistry, TMJ analysis and treatment, advanced prosthetics, dentures, cosmetic dentistry, and Digital Smile Design.

I currently reside in St. David’s with my wife, Piera, who is a retired high school teacher and currently a certified Pilates instructor.

I like to contribute to my local Boy Scout Troop, Paoli Troop 1, BSA and have been involved with them for many years since I was a scout in the same troop. I presently sit on the Troop Committee and Executive Board.  I like to volunteer my dental services at Community Volunteers in Medicine, located in West Chester, PA.

I am a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and an active participant in a local Spear Study Club.​

Dr. Robert J. Dollfus III, DMD

General and Cosmetic Dentist

Dr. Dollfus joined Chesterbrook Dental Associates in 2019 after completion of dental school in Chicago, IL at Midwestern University.  He received a BS in Biology while minoring in Business Administration at the University of Miami.  Dr. Dollfus grew up in Phoenixville, PA and attended Malvern Preparatory School.    

Dr. Dollfus has been voted by his peers to Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Dentists list for Cosmetic Dentistry in 2021, 2022 and 2023, as well as Main Line Today’s Top Dentists list for General Dentistry in 2022 and 2023.  

Continuing education has been and always will be an integral part of Dr. Dollfus’ career.  He has completed advanced implant training with Bicon Dental Implants in Boston, MA and Cartagena, Colombia.  He has also completed full mouth reconstruction and cadaver implant training with Zimmer Biomet in Parsippany, NJ.  Dr. Dollfus is a certified provider for Invisalign and SPARK clear orthodontic aligners.  

Dr. Rob volunteers time at Community Volunteers in Medicine providing dental care to the underserved in western Chester County.  

Dr. Dollfus enjoys playing golf and surfing, is a devout Philly Sports fan, and loves vacationing with his fiancé, Amanda, and his family in Avalon, NJ. 

Dr. Dollfus is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Stomatology and the Main Line Dental Society.  

Dr. Brooke Bowen, DMD

With her roots in south Florida, Dr. Bowen received her BS degree in Nutritional Science from the University of Florida. During those years, her passion for dentistry grew as she spent a great amount of time volunteering at the UF College of Dentistry. The positive impact that dentistry can have on a patient’s confidence and well-being is what ultimately drove her to choose this career.

Dr. Bowen received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Upon graduation, she began her dental career by completing a General Practice Residency at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL.  Through this residency, she gained extensive training in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, root canal therapy, oral surgery, and emergency dentistry. 

Dr. Bowen’s goal is to provide excellent dental care while effectively communicating with her patients to make their visit to the dentist a positive experience. She enjoys attending continuing education courses and collaborating with colleagues to provide her patients with the best comprehensive care. Dr. Bowen is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry, and the Pennsylvania Dental Association. Along with Dr. Dollfus, Dr. Bowen is member of the prestigious Philadelphia Academy of Stomatology.  She is trained in nitrous oxide sedation and is Invisalign certified. 

In her free time, Dr. Bowen enjoys playing outdoor sports such as tennis, pickleball, and golf. Dr. Bowen loves spending time in Avalon, NJ with her family.  Also, as a self-proclaimed food critic, she loves trying new restaurants in the city.
